3 Common Brochure Printing Mistakes to Avoid

Before you get your brochure printed, there are a few simple things worth checking.

After years in the printing industry, I've seen the same mistakes come up again and again. They might seem minor, but they can make the difference between a brochure that looks professional and one that looks cheap.

1. Text too close to the edge

Keep important text and images away from the edge of your brochure. As a general rule, allow around 5mm of safe space around the edges. This gives your design room to breathe and creates a much cleaner, more professional result.

2. Spelling and punctuation mistakes

It's surprisingly easy to miss a typo when you've been looking at your own artwork for hours. Before sending your brochure to print, get someone else to proofread it. A fresh pair of eyes can often spot mistakes that you've become blind to.

3. Poor print quality

Even a great design can look bad if it's printed poorly. Blurry images, uneven colour, streaks or weak-looking text can let down an otherwise professional brochure.

And one bonus tip...

Before you approve your print job, check your phone number and scan your QR code. Make sure they're both correct and actually work. If either one is wrong, your beautifully designed brochure isn't going to do its job.
